Welcome new lab members

The Meucci lab welcomes new members Dr. Jennifer Kelschenbach and Dr. Waleed Iqbal, who joined the lab this year. Dr. Kelschenbach came to Drexel from the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she investigated how opioids and other substances contribute to HIV associated neurocognitive disorders via extensive work with the EcoHIV mouse model. Dr. Iqbal recently completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering working with Dr. Alessandro Fatatis at Drexel, where he developed multi-omics pipelines to study drivers of primary tumors and metastases. In the Meucci lab, Drs. Kelschenbach and Iqbal will advance our work on opioid and chemokine regulation of neuronal structure and function in neuroHIV, including multi-electrode array recordings of neurons and brain tissues coupled with computational approaches to analyze large electrophysiological datasets.
