Ty is an undergraduate student majoring in Biology in Drexel’s Pennoni Honors College. He works with senior lab members to analyze microscopy images of human brain slice cultures and other experimental systems. He also helps Dr. Kelschenbach study how naturally occurring cannabinoids impact cognitive impairment in an animal model of HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder.

Ty has also participated in previous research and clinical experiences during his time at Drexel. He worked as part of Drexel’s SEA-PHAGE program to identify new strains of bacteriophages, and he also completed an internship at Tower Health Reading Hospital focused on measuring stroke metrics and functional outcomes in predominately Spanish-speaking patients.
