Matt is a undergraduate student majoring in Biology at Drexel University. He joined the lab as a STAR (Students Tackling Advanced Research) scholar in the fall of 2014. His interests in neuronal activity and neurodegenerative diseases has led him to complete his senior thesis in this lab. Interested in the fields of neurology/neurosurgery, he hopes to learn more about the molecular and cellular basis of HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND) through his time in the Meucci lab. He is currently working with Lindsay Festa and examining the effects of HIV proteins on dendritic spines in the rat brain.
