E-mail: jaj376@drexel.edu

James is a student in the Microbiology and Immunology master’s program at Drexel. He previously earned a BS in biology with a concentration in microbiology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. During this time, he was involved in undergraduate research projects that studied pathogenic urine bacteria, and he worked on a rapid diagnostic system to detect specific bacteria.

James joined the Meucci lab in 2022 to expand his research experience in infectious diseases. He is interested in studying how HIV dysregulates brain function and is currently optimizing a multi-electrode array system to measure how HIV alters neuronal activity in cultured human brain slices.
